Moore, Warren F

FORMER CHASE COUNTY RESIDENT TAKES LIFE

Warren F. Moore who will be membered by older residents of this part of Chase county, took his own life at his farm home at Rosean, about ten miles northeast of Emporia, last Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Moore was 47 years of age. He was born at Dunlap, Kansas, Sept. 7, 1884, His parents moved to this city when he was a child and he was raised here. His father and mother were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moore. His father worked in the Rettiger & Norton stone quarry east of this city.

For several years, Mr. Moore had been in poor health. Saturday his family went to Emporia to attend the Beef Cattle Train festival. When they returned to the farm they found a note on kitchen table, saying he was tired of living and that they would find his body in the granary. He had shot himself In the head with a 410-guage shotgun.

Sheriff Joe Dailey and Coroner C. A. Partridge of Emporia, were summoned. After an investigation, Coronern Partridge found that death was from suicide. Mr. Moore leaves his wife and two children. The children are Mrs. Celle Moore Bruce, and Alfred Moore. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moore.
