Morris, Inez H Thomas Inez H Morris, 87, died Dec 30, 2001 at Holiday Resort Care Center. Mrs Morris was a homemaker.
Inez Thomas, the daughter of Joseph and Louisa Shores Thomas, was born on Sept. 27, 1914, at rural Saffordville. She married Harold W Morris on Aug 02, 1941, at Benton, Ark. She taught at Central and New Hope schools in rural Lyon County, was a volunteer with Emporia Head Start and ran a child-care center in her home. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Morris and Brett Morris of Emporia; a daughter, Jeannene Wittmer of Wichita; a brother Roy Thomas of Emporia; a sister, Adila Givens of Emporia; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Bertha Corpening, Laura Jackson and Anna Davis; and three brothers, William Thomas, Charles Thomas, and Walter Thomas.
Services were Wednesday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Burial was at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Aviary Project at Holiday Resort care center in care of the funeral home.
