Morrison, Adelbert

DEATH OF ADELBERT MORRISON

Mrs. Bertha Plummer of Los Angeles, California, has written of the death of Mr. Adelbert Morrison, who formerly lived in Strong City, where he was an employed of the Santa Fe.

Mr. Morrison died at his home in Los Angeles, Sept. 19th., following a paralytic stroke a few days after he became ill.

Mr. Morrison was born near Springdale, Iowa, May 9th., 1854. He was in his 77th. year. He lived near Springdale until he reached manhood.
He was married to Miss Minnie Armstrong on March 17th., 1881, and in 1885 they moved to Lane county, Kansas, but a year later located in Emporia, where he began working for the Santa Fe. He became a locomotive fireman in 1890 on the Middle Division and received his promotion to engineer in 1899.

He retired from work for the Santa Fe in 1920. Most of the time he worked on the Middle Division the family lived in Emporia and Strong City.
R Three sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Morrison, Elliott M. Morrison, of North Hollywood, Calif.; Ralph R. Morrison, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Dr., Vernon Morrison, of Hope, Kansas. Mrs. Morrison's death occurred April 14th, 1916, while the family lived in Emporia.

Mr. Morrison was later married to Mrs. Ida Wagaman, of Houston, Texas who was his sister-in-law. She with the three sons survive.
