Mow, Armelia "Emilie"

Mrs. Armelia Mow; 76 years of age is dead at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Godfrey Kurtz, in this city. The deceased is a native of Germany and was born in the old county 76 years ago, coming to America when a girl of 18 years. The funeral services will be held at the German Lutheran church at Elk today after which interment will be made in the Elk cemetery.

Mrs. Emilie Mow, wife of John Mow, died Saturday, October 24, at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Matilda Kurtz, in Cottonwood Falls, at the age of 77 years 10 months 4 days.

Mrs. Mow was born in Pomerania, Germany, December 20, 1847. She came to America in 1875, locating in Wisconsin, and in 1876 was married to John Mow. Mr. and Mrs. Mow moved to Chase County in 1887. They located near Elk, and Chase County has been their home ever since.

Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Mow. The surviving children are Frank Mow, Herington; Mrs. Ida Kaufmann, Mrs. Augusta Keogeboehn, Mrs. Emma Mauderly, and Mrs. Matilda Kurtz, all of Chase county.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. J. Jacob, were held October 27, at the Lutheran church in Prairie Grove district. Burial was in Middle Creek cemetery.
