Nelson, Daniel A Daniel A Nelson, 77, of Hartford died March 30, 2002, at his home. Mr. Nelson was a welder for Sauder Custom Fabrication for 30 years. He was a longtime resident of this area.
Daniel A. Nelson, the son of Pete and Mabel Hilderbrand Nelson, was born Oct. 21 1924, in Illinois. He graduated from Saffordville High School. Mr. Nelson was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a past president and member of the Flint Hills Saddle Club.
He is survived by a son, Gary Nelson, formerly of Emporia; two daughters,
E J Ward and Janice Clopton, both of Hartford; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Nelson was cremated with private family services to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to the American Lung Assocation can be sent to Charter Funerals, Emporia Chapel.
