Fisher, Colleen Carnine Parks

Matfield Green native Colleen Virginia Fisher, 75, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at her home in Emporia.

She was born April 27, 1932, at Matfield Green, the daughter of Donald R. and Chrystal R. Bocook Carnine.

She married William L. Parks on Jan. 21, 1951; at Emporia. He died earlier. On Feb. 14, 1978, she married William W. Fisher at Las Vegas, Nev. He died Jan. 22, 1998.

She was retired from Bunge Corp. after 22 years as a secretary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the auxiliary of Lowry-Funston Post 1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Emporia.

She is survived by five sons, Rex Parks of Kansas City Mo., Gregg Parks of Sioux City, Iowa, Mark Parks of Kansas City, Kan., Todd Parks of Emporia and Brett Parks of Olathe; a brother, Ray L. Carnine of Emporia; and nine grandchildren.

She is to be cremated. A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Matfield Green Cemetery Memorials in her name to the H. Dale Buck Animal Welfare Fund or Hand in Hand Hospice may be sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
