Pierce, Rebecca Staggs

Obituary of Rebecca Pierce.

A long life came to a peaceful end on Sunday, June 16, 1895; when Mrs. Rebecca Pierce breathed her last, at the age of sixty-one years. The funeral services were conducted - at her home on June 17, and the body laid to rest beside her husband in the Florence cemetery.

Rebecca Staggs was born November 21, 1883. She was married to M. P, Pierce, January 23, 1855, with whom she happily lived until the Messenger came for him, on March 23, 1882, To them ten children were born, seven of whom survive. At the age of twenty-two years she gave her heart to Christ and united with the Baptist church, of which she remained a member till recent years, which since time she has been identified with the Methodist Episcopal church. She was a faithful follower of Jesus, and was faithful, loving and kind to the last. Thus passed away an affection-ate mother and a humble Christian. J. B. MACKENZIE.
