Poore, Lee Kent

Lee Kent Poore, 72, a lifelong Anderson, Ind. resident, died July 8, 2005, at his home following a brief illness.

He graduated in 1951 from Anderson High School. He received an appointment to West Point Military Academy and after completing his first year he transferred on scholarship to Kansas State University.

Mr. Poore married Sylvia Dawson of Elmdale on May 29, 1955. He was commissioned as an officer in the US Army. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at KSU and he received his Master's Degree in Mathematics from Ball State University.

He was a mathematics teacher at Frankton Junior High School and Anderson High School until 1969. He then worked as a feasibility analyst for the Gene B. Glick development company in Indianapolis. In 1975 he began L.K. Poore and Associates Inc., in Anderson, Ind. In 1989 he returned to Gene B. Glick company as a real estate tax consultant before retiring in 1998.

He was a member of Aletheia Fellowship and Ministry Center where he was an elder and was ordained in February 2002. He was on the Board of Directors of Family Forever Ministries. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Brian Poore and Jeff Poore both of Anderson, Ind., Greg Poore of Bloomington, Ind., and Mark Poore of Scott Depot, W.Va.; a daughter, Carol Miller of Anderson, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Joann Renner of Carmel, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Arline Poore and brother, David Poore.

Services were July 11, 2005, at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Home with Pastors Gary McCaslin and Celester Neeley officiating. Memorials may be made to the Aletheia Fellowship Benevolence Fund, 2505 Faith Drive, Anderson, Ind. 46013.
