Ragsdale, Floyd F

Floyd F. Ragsdale, 84, of Emporia died Oct. 1, 2002, at Newman Regional Health. Mr. Ragsdale was a sanita- tion supervisor at Interstate Brands-Dolly Madison Bakery before he retired 20 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Floyd F Ragsdale, the son of Wilson C. and Mable B. Reeves Ragsdale, was born Dec. 22, 1917, at Emporia. He married Oma Klinger on April 4, 1950, at Cottonwood Falls. Mr. Ragsdale was a member of the Emporia Salvation Army Citadel. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowry-Funston Post 1980 and a member of the National Guard in Emporia.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Nancy Ticker of Emporia and Barbara Lewis and Sally Williams, both of Topeka; two sons, Floyd H. Ragsdale of Topeka and Frank J. Ragsdale of Bonner Springs; 24 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. A daughter, Roxanne Strawder; three brothers, Ernest Ragsdale, Carl Ragsdale and Junior Ragsdale; and two sisters, Dorothy Brown and Eva Davis, died earlier.

The funeral was Oct. 5, 2002, in the Roberts-Blue- Barnett Funeral Home Chapel. Former Emporian Cap. Denis James of the Salvation Army in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., conducted the service. Burial was in Cottonwood Cemetery, west of Emporia. Memorial contributions to the Emporia Friends of the Zoo or the H. Dale Buck Fund or Animal Welfare can be sent to the funeral home, P.O.
