Read, Donald Dean Donald Dean Read, 71, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 at his home in Council Grove.
Mr. Read was a mechanic for John Deere in Council Grove until 1985 and farmed until 2000.
The son of Lloyd and Hazel Hennes Read, he was born Sept. 8, 1934, at Morris County. He married Saundra Lindquist on June 12, 1958, in Cottonwood Falls. She survives.
He was a past member of the Optimist Club in
Council Grove and the Wilsey Lions Club.
He is also survived by three sons, Shawn Read of Allen, Don Read of Arkansas City and Tim Read of Amarillo, Texas; his mother and stepfather, Cecil and Hazel Kendall of Council Grove; one sister, Donna Snider of Council Grove; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrel Read and Steve Read and a grandson.
The funeral was held Aug. 4, in the Penwell-Gable Council Grove Chapel. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Council Grove.
