Salazar, Henryetta Louesa Wagoner

Henryetta Louesa (Wagoner) Salazar, 87, died Feb. 11, 2003, at her home in Los Angeles, Calif, after a long illness.

She was a Claims Supervisor for the Transamerica Life Insurance Company, retiring in 1981.

Henryetta Louesa Wagoner was born Jan. 15, 1916, to Ray and Ella May Wagoner at Matfield Green. She attended high school in Matfield Green and graduated from Emporia Normal College. She then taught in the Bazaar school system.

She met Octavio Salazar and they were married May 21, 1939, and moved to Ensenada, Baja, Mexico. They moved to Los Angeles in 1959. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1963.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Faye L. Calvert and Joyce Audean Hatcher. She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn J. Rose of the home; a sister, Maxine M. Kirk, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; six nieces and one nephew.

Internment at the Matfield Cemetery will be scheduled in the future. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Alzheimer's Association, 347 So. Laura, Wichita, KS. 67211. Condolences may be sent to the family via; mjrose4@iwon.com.

Former Admire resident Nora Eilene Dial, 86, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Emporia Presbyterian Manor. She had lived in Lyon County since 1953. Mrs. Dial managed the turnpike restaurant and other restaurants in Lyon County. She also was a switchboard operator in the Admire area and a homemaker.

Nora Eilene Anderson, the daughter of Nels and Elsie Haugen Anderson, was born May 2, 1916, at Jasper, Minn. She married Thomas Nicholas Dial on March 16, 1936, at Jasper, Minn. He died April 5, 1988. Mrs. Dial was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran Church in Pipestone, Minn.

She is survived by a son, Thomas N. Dial of Strong City; two daughters, Beverly Dial Hart and Eileen Dial McWilliam, both of Admire; a sister, Esther Bowden of Sioux Falls, S.D.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Marion Preussler and Gladys Kletke; and a grandson, Jeffrey Lynn Hart, died earlier.

The funeral was Jan. 25, 2003, in the Rosean Community Center in North Lyon County. The Rev. Mark Stukey of Admire conducted the service. Burial was in Rosean Cemetery.
