Salender, Linda J

Linda J. Salender, Cottonwood Falls, 64, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at her home after a long illness.

Linda Jean Kreiling was born Aug. 16, 1940, in Trenton, N.J., the daughter of John and Carrie Rigby Kreiling. She and Martin Eugene Salender Jr. were married Feb. 14, 1959, at Groveville, N.J. He died March 10, 1999.

She worked as a certified nurses aide at the Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center sev- eral years, retiring in 1999.

She is survived by three sons, Terry Eugene Salender and Eugene Martin Salender both of Cottonwood Falls and Martin Eugene Salender of Trenton, N.J.; two daughters, Katie Rose Price of Empire, Ala., and Linda Jean Silverman of Trenton, N.J.; her mother, Carrie Ward of Cottonwood Falls; a brother, Rufus Ward of Shippensburg, Pa.; four sisters, Sharon Pietrowski of Cottonwood Falls, `Merry Malloy of Georgia, Caroline Ward of Piney Flats, Tenn., and Cathy Ward of Morrisville, Pa.; 18 grand-children and seven great-grandchildren.

The private family burial service will be at a later date in Morrisville Cemetery, Morrisville, Pa. Mrs. Salender has been cremated. Memorials are suggested to the Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, 66845.
