Sampson, Betty June

Betty June Sampson, 84, died Oct. 13, 2003, at the Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cottonwood Falls.

Betty June Sampson, the daughter of Earl and Edith Sampson, was born in Clayton, N.M., on June 26, 1919. She lived most of her life in Chase County where she attended school. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Emporia. Her hobbies included knitting, riding her three-wheeled bicycle, photography, doll collecting and raising dogs.

She is survived by two sisters; L. Dena Goertz, Marion and Patricia Davis, Bunker Hill, Ind.; nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Wesley (Jack); four sisters, Helen Crisp, Edith "Peggy" Moore, and twins Roberta and Rowce.

The funeral will be Friday, Oct. 17, 2003 at 9:30 a.m., in Brown- Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls. Graveside service and burial will be at 11 a.m. in Highland Cemetery in Marion. Memorials are suggest- ed to the Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cottonwood Falls.
