Schade, Mary Alice Spencer

Mary Alice Schade, 75, of Emporia and formerly of Olpe died Nov. 27, 2002, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Mrs. Schade was a home maker and earlier, helped her husband operate a dairy farm in Olpe. Mary Alice Spencer, the daughter of Walter J. and Ernestine N. Mosher Spencer, was born Aug. 18, 1927, at Emporia. She graduated from Roosevelt High School. She married Eldo Henry Schade on Dec. 1, 1957, at Emporia. He died April 19, 1982. Mrs. Schade was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle Church.

She is survived by a son, Carl Schade of Emporia; a daughter, Susan Knapp of Chanute; three sisters, Juanita Donelson of Emporia, Doris Danford of Strong City and Alta Strboya of Vista, Calif.; two brothers, Walter Spencer of Emporia and Albert Spencer of West Moreland; and five grandchildren. She was pre- ceded in death by a brother, John "Jack" Spencer. The funeral was Dec. 2 in the Apostolic Tabernacle Church. The Rev. J.D. Harvel conducted the service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, south of Emporia. Memorial contributions to the church can be sent to Charter Funerals-Emporia Chapel, 501 W. Sixth Ave., Emporia, KS 66801.
