Scheck, Elsie L E Voorhees The funeral for Elsie L E Scheck, 91, of Hamilton was Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, in the Wilson Funeral Home at Madison. Burial was in Blakely Cemetery, northwest of Madison. Memorial contributions to the Medicalodge of Eureka can be sent to the funeral home, P O Box 488, Madison, KS 66860. Mrs. Scheck, who died Oct. 15, 2001, at the Medicalodge of Eureka, was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of northern Greenwood County. Elsie L E Voorhees, the daughter of Jess Walter and Mary Etta Martin Voorhees, was born March 11, 1910, in rural Madison. She married Herman Scheck on July 1, 1931, at Cottonwood Falls. He died Jan 27, 1993.
Mrs. Scheck is survived by a son, Richard Scheck of Eureka; three daughters, Gladis Tannahill of Eureka, Carol Edwards of Toronto and Alberta Miller of Benton; a brother, Sam Voorhees of Grandview, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Five brothers and three sisters died earlier.
