Schickel, Carolyn

Carolyn Schickel, 64, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at her daughter's home in Cottonwood Falls. A celebration of her life service, with memory sharing by Larry Pinkston, will be held Thursday, July 29, at 11 a.m. at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Carolyn Sue Fisher, the daughter of Bill F. Fisher and Jennie LaRue, was born March 12, 1940, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She and Frank Schickel were married May 12, 1968, in Santa Anna, Calif. He died Aug. 1, 1986.

She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and a homemaker. She was a Methodist.

She is survived by four sons, Jeffrey Scott Schickel of Lancaster, Pa., Lonnie Jones of Tyler, Texas, Stanley "Taco" Schickel of Ironwood, Calif. and Conan Schickel of Wichita; five daughters, Cheryl Schickel of Lancaster, Pa., Carolyn Irwin of Wichita, LaDenna Foley of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jennie Lee Hill of Wichita, Frankie Telecia Lyden of Haysville and Denna Sue Ann Schickel of Cottonwood Falls; a sister, Lois Fisher of Tucumcari, N.M.; and 34 grandchildren.

The family will greet friends Wednesday from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home where friends may call Wednesday, noon until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time. She requested the memorial contributions be to The Tanya (Sissy) Huse Education Fund which may be sent in care of the funeral home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845
