Schlup, Rita Rae Rita Rae Schlup, 75, former Lyon County register
of deeds, died Friday, Dec.
12, 2003, at St. John's
Hospital in Cassville, Mo. <

The daughter of Harry and
Dessie Beatrice Sanders
Scott, she was born Feb. 16,
1928, in Wellington. She
married Ralph Ryan. He
died earlier. She married
Leonard K. Schlup on April
30, 1971. in Miami, Okla.
He survives.
She retired from Boeing
in Wichita, after working
19 years. She and her husband moved from Emporia
to Shell Knob, Mo., in 1988.
Mrs. Schlup was a
Shrine Lady with the Shell
Knob Shrine Club.
She is survived by seven
children, Steve Schlup of
Cottonwood Falls, Buck
Ryan of McPherson, Randy
Ryan of Pittsburg, Frank
Schlup of Newton, Carol
Johnson of Layton, Okla.,
Renea Papen of Kansas
City, Mo., Tim Schlup of
Muskogee, Okla.; three sisters,
Mona Scribner and
Joanne Arterburn, both of
Caldwell, and Barbara
Hybsha of Newton; 15
grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
The funeral was Dec. 19
in the Elliott-Schaeffer
Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Burial was in Rose Hill
Cemetery at South Haven.
