Schroeder, Dorothy M Dorothy M. Schroeder, 88, died Sept. 14, 2001 at the Madison Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Schroeder was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Chrurch in Madison.
Dorothy Mackey was born July 4, 1913, at Cedar Point, the daughter of Joseph and Jessie Talkington Mackey. She came to the Madison community in 1957 from rural Olpe. She married Samuel W. Schroeder on Sept. 30, 1931, in Emporia. He died Aug. 7, 1992. She also was preceeded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Schroeder of El Dorado and Gale Schroeder of Madison; a daughter, Vickie Stanfield of Chanute; a brother, Chester Mackey of Madison; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services were Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at the Wilson Funeral Home in Madison, the Rev. Bob Robison officiated. Burial followed in Blakley Cemetery northwest of Madison.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Madison Senior Center in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be sent to the Wilson Funeral Home, P O Box 488, Madison, Ks 66860.
