Shadwick, Ivan L Former area resident Ivan L. Shadwick, 81, Murrieta, California, died July 24, 2002, at his home. Mr. Shadwick was director of purchasing at McDonnell-Douglas in Long Beach, Calif., before he retired. Ivan L. Shadwick, the son of Floyd J. and Grace Miles Shadwick, was born June 1, 1921, at Strong City and grew up in Emporia. He graduated from Emporia High School attended the College of Emporia and the University of Kansas and graduated from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Mr Shadwick is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Fearl Shadwick, formerly of Burlington; a daughter, Ann Reese of Dana Point, Calif.; two sons, Floyd "Jim" Shadwick of Placentia, Calif., and Steven Shadwick of Corona, Calif.; a brother, Gerald Shadwick of Greeley, Colo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The burial service was July 27 in St. Thomas of Canterbury Espiscopal Church at Temecula, Calif. Inurnment was in Riverside National Cemetery at Riverside, Calif.
