Shaft, Augustus J Augustus J. Shaft, 89,
died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004,
in Merced, Calif.
Mr. Shaft was born on
Dec. 17, 1914, in Clements.
He worked as an audiolo-
gist for 35 years. He was
the president of the Merced
Chamber of Commerce, a
member of the National
Rifle Association and was a
resident of Atwater for 58
years.
He is survived by his
wife, Mary Helen Shaft of
Atwater; daughters Kay
Cabral and Pam Caton;
four grandchildren and
nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by his son Ron Shaft.
Memorial Services were
held on Monday, Feb. 23,
2004, at Stratford Evans
Merced Funeral Chapel.
Arrangements were
made under the direction of
Stratford Evans Merced
Funeral Chapel.
