Shoars, Boy
SUICIDE
A boy named Shoars, about eight years of age, living near the head of Middle creek, hung himself Friday.
We can get no reliable particulars, but from what we can learn it appears young Shoars has been talking of dying for some time, and a week or so ago he told Mr. Allen he wanted him to preach his funeral sermon, that he was Going "to be an angel and with the angels stand."
Previous to hanging himself, he hung a cat, it is supposed, to see if there would be much suffering attending death that way.
