Obituary of Mrs. George Stubenhofer

The death of Mrs. George Stubenhofer occurred at the Stubenhofer home in Strong City Sunday, following a paralytic stroke which she had suffered the Tuesday before.

Mrs. Stubenhofer had been ill earlier in the year but had shown much improvement and it was the hopes of her children that she would fully regain her health, when she was stricken suddenly on Tuesday of last week. The funeral was held from St. Anthony's Catholic church at 10:00 o'clock Tuesday morning, with Father Albers in charge. Interment was made in the Strong City Catholic cemetery. The pall-bearers were Henry C. O'Reilly, William E. Brown, Charles Rettiger, Mike Nash, Harold Wiebrecht, and Jas. McCabe.

Nora Teresa Maloney, daughter of Michael and Bridget Maloney, was born November 6, 1863, at Green Park Bruit, County Limerick Ireland, and died February 9, 1936, at her home in Strong City, Kansas, at the age of 72 years, 3 months, and 3 days. She came to this country at the age of 16 years, and was followed 9 months later by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, who have all preceeded her in death. They made this county their home.

She was married to George Stubenhofer on October 20, 1890. To this union were born 6 children: Francis, George and Helen, of the home, and Mrs. Mae Deragisch, of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Gertrude Rettiger of Strong City, Karl Stubenhofer of Elmdale, Kansas, and 6 grandchildren, Mr. and' Mrs. Stubenhofer lived on a farm near Elmdale, Kansas, and their reared their family. They moved to Strong City, Kansas, in 1920, and have since made this their home. She was preceeded in death by her husband on November 11, 1929.

Mrs. Stubenhofer was a kind, loving mother, friend, and neighbor. Her love for and devotion to her family, was the dominent factor in her entire life. The friends closest to Mrs. Stubenhofer know that they are better men and women for having known her. The place she made for herself in her home and community can never be filled. It is the passing of a noble soul.

Oh,never shall thy form depart
From the bright pictures in my hearts.
