Sullivan, Anna Elizabeth Wheeler

Mrs. Ann Sullivan Passes In Topeka

Former Resident of This County Is Buried Tuesday in the Bazaar Cemetery.

Mrs. Ann E. Sullivan, 84, a former resident of this county, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. C. Carr, in Topeka after a few days' illness.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Dwight L. Patton, were held at the Cottonwood Falls Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, and interment was in the Bazaar cemetery.

Mrs. Sullivan came to this county about 33 years ago with her husband, the late J. W. Sullivan, and family and lived on Southfork until about 20 years ago when they moved to Cottonwood Falls. Mr Sullivan's death occurred 19 years ago, and Mrs. Sullivan continued living in Cottonwood Falls until three years ago when she went to Topeka to make her home with her daughter.

Born May 9, 1853, at Everton, Mo., Mrs. Sullivan married there and came with her husband to Madison, Kans. They drove 50 head of cattle overland from Missouri to Madison.

Surviving Mrs. Sullivan are her daughter, Mrs. Carr; one son, H. W. Sullivan of Cottonwood Falls, and four grandchildren. She is the last of a family of 12.

Pall-bearers were G. B. McClellan, R. Z. Blackburn, Harry Hays, Les Talkington, Victor Kirk and Noel Talkington. A quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Long, Mrs. Katherine Blackburn and C. W. Mendenhall, sang, accompanied by Miss Irma Humphrey.
