Talkington, Mary Reese Mary (Reese) Talkington
Mary REESE was born on 4 Mar 1848 in Salesville, Guernsey Co, Ohio. She died 43 on
1 Feb 1903 in Elmdale, Chase, Kansas. She was buried 44 in Prairie
Grove Cem, Cottonwood Falls, Chase Co, Kansas.

I. W. Talkington died at her home in Elmdale Sunday morning at the age of 54
years
10 months and 28 days. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church
Tuesday
by Rev. Stetson and burial took place at the cemetery west of Cottonwood
Falls.
Mary Reese Talkington was born at Salesville, Ohio March 4, 1848. Part of
her life
was spent in West Virginia and in October 1878 she came to Kansas. On
November
30, 1879 she married Isaac Talkington. No children were born to them. About
15
years ago she suffered a paralytic stroke which left her an invalid. A second
attack
caused death. She was a practical Christian and a member of the Methodist
Church
and this gave her the courage to face death without fear.
While an invalid, yet
she
was ever patient and looked always for the bright side of life and scattered
sunshine
over those so fortunate as to come in contact with her. These qualities
naturally
caused a great love for the sacred, the beautiful flowers and the innocent
children.
