Thomas, Agnes P Stone P

The memorial service for Agnes P. Thomas, 91, of the Holiday Resort care center, was Sept. 23, 2002, in the Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mic McGuire conducted the service. Memorial contributions to the Emporia Zoo, the Grace United Methodist Church, Holiday Resort Residence Fund or Hospice of Emporia can be sent to Charter Funerals-Emporia Chapel, 501 W. Sixth Ave., Emporia, KS 66801.

Mrs. Thomas, a longtime resident of Lyon County, died Sept. 18, 2002, at the care cen- ter. She was a homemaker. Agnes P Stone, the daugh- ter of William C. and Nora B. Markley Stone, was born Dec. 20, 1910, in Toledo Township. She married William Thomas on Aug 24, 1929, at Cottonwood Falls. He died Dec. 13, 1996. Mrs. Thomas was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Allen and a member of the Rain or Shine Club in Admire.

She is survived by three daughters, Virginia Kusmaul and Elizabeth Robinson, both of Emporia, and Shirley Maxwell of Alma; two sons, James Thomas of Emporia and William John Thomas of Allen; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. An infant great-granddaughter died ear- lier.
