Thompson, Dean William Dean W. Thompson, 70, of
Cedar Point died Dec. 30,
2002, at Susan B. Allen
Memorial Hospital in El
Dorado. Mr. Thompson was a farmer
and rancher and for the past
10 years, he also was a livestock order buyer. He served in the Army Occupation Forces in
Germany from 1955 through
1957.
Dean W. Thompson, the son
of William James and Ruth
Nicholsen Thompson, was
born May 4, 1932, in Wonsevu
community. He attended grade
school at Wonsevu and graduated from Cedar Point High School in 1949. He married Joan Bartlett on
June 13, 1954, in Madison.
Mr. Thompson was a member of the Wonsevu Christian Church. He was a member and
past master of Advance Masonic Lodge 114 at Florence and a member of Veterans' of
Foreign Wars Post 6958 at
Marion.
He is survived by his wife; a
son, Wayne Thompson of Cape
Canaveral, Fla.; two sisters,
Beth Wright and Shirley
Sprague, both of Eureka; five
grandchildren; and one great-
grandchild. The funeral was Jan. 3,
2003, in the Zeiner Funeral
Home at Florence. Memorial contributions to

Dean William Thompson,
70, died on Dec. 30, 2002, at
Susan B. Allen Memorial
Hospital, El Dorado.
Dean William Thompson
was born May 4, 1932, in
Wonsevu to William James
and Ruth (Nicholsen)
Thompson. He attended grade
school in Wonsevu but gradu-
ated from Cedar Point High
School in 1949. He was mar
ried to Joan Bartlett on June
13, 1954, at Madison. He
served in the United States
Army Occupation Forces in
Germany from 1955 to 1957.
He returned to the Cedar
Point area and was a well
known farmer/rancher and
later a livestock order buyer.
He was a member and Past
Master of Advance Lodge #114
at Florence, VFW Post #6958
in Marion and the Wonsevu
Christian Church.
He was preceded in death
by his parents.
He is survived by his
spouse, Joan of Cedar Point;
one son, Wayne Thompson,
Cape Canaveral, Fla.; two sis
ters, Beth Wright and Shirley
Sprague both of Eureka; five
grandchildren; and one great-
grandchild.
Services for Mr. Thompson
were Jan. 3, 2003, at Zeiner
Funeral Home in Florence.
Burial was at Cedar Point
Cemetery, Cedar Point.
Military Honors were pre
sented by McConnell Air Force
Base, Wichita, and the
Masonic Rites by Advance
Lodge #114 of Florence.
Memorials have been estab-
lished with Cedar Point
Community Church and the
Florence Ambulance Service.
