Traylor, Patricia Ann Trayer

Patricia A. Trayer, 44, died Monday, March 6, 2006, at her home in Cottonwood Falls. She had been living with cancer since 2000.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 9, at 2 p.m., in the Flint Hills Community Church in Cottonwood Falls. The Rev. Larry Timm and The Rev. James Bartsch will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Patricia "Patty" Ann Trayer, the daughter of Harold Dee and Marjorie Jacot Trayer, was born Oct. 28, 1961, in Emporia. She attended Chase County schools and graduated from Chase County High School in 1979.

She married Steve DeVoe on Feb. 6, 1982. They were divorced. She and Todd Traylor were married Oct. 30, 1988, and they were divorced.

She graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor of science in Business and Accounting degree. She worked, as an accountant, for Koch Industry in Wichita Denver, Colo., Helzberg Diamonds in Kansas City, Hill's Science Diet in Topeka and Kennedy and Coe Accountants in Dodge City. She taught music in Hanston High School. In 2003, she moved back to Cottonwood Falls and worked as a substitute teacher for USD #284 and as an accountant at Camp Wood. She also gave piano lessons.

She was a member of the Flint Hills Community Church. She served as Secretary for the Chase County Alumni Association and was currently serving as the Treasurer.

She is survived by a daughter, Kerra Nicole DeVoe Traylor of Cottonwood Falls; a son, Cory David Traylor of Cottonwood Falls; her mother, Marjorie Trayer of Cottonwood Falls; and a brother, Jeffrey Trayer of McCune. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Tamra Kay Trayer.
