Warren, J. K.

J. K. Warren, father of Mrs. W. N. Oles peacefully passed away at hie home in San Diego, Cal., on April 26th at the age 98 yrs, 3 mo, and 7da. He was married to Antoinette A. Peck in Tumbull Co., Ohio, where they madc their homeand where all their children were born. They were both graduates of Grand River Institute, Ohio.

He enlisted and served three years in the Civil War receiving his discharge at the close of the war.

He with his family moved to Chase County Kansas in the early eighties and engaged in dairying and stock raising.

In 1895 Mr. and Mrs. Warren moved to San Diego, Calif. In 1905, Mrs. Warren passed away and was buried in Mt. Hope cemetery in San Diego, Califtnnia, where also was buried their oldest son, I. C. Warren, a former teacher in the Chase Co. Schools and a daughter, Mrs. Thos. B. Hull.

Mr. Warren with his wife were members of the Methodist Church. He exemplified his faith by his Christian living, as a kind and loving husband, father and neighbor, and having a great love for truth and justice, and a square deal among men and nations.

The funeral service was conducted by the Pastor, the G A. R. Post and the W. R. C. having a part in the service. "The End of a Perfect Day" was rendered as a solo by Mr. Chapin, of San Diego, a friend of the family. The floral offerings were very beautiful.

He leaves to mourn his loss, one son, Kenyon Warren of Pasadena, Cal.; and three daughters, Mrs. J. L. Hillard and Mrs. D. R. Webber of San Diego, and Mrs. W. N. Oles of Cottonwood Falls. All of whom were present at the funeral including grandchildren, ercept Mrs, W. N. Oles. He was laid to rest by the side of his wife in Mt. Hope Cemetery, San Diego. - -.
