Watchous, Cora

Mrs. Louis Watchous Dead

"Mrs, Cora Watchous, wife of Louis Watchous of Matfield Green died at the Newman Memorial Hospital in Emporia early Wednesday morning following a brief illness. Mrs. Watchous became ill several days ago and on Monday was rushed to the hospital where it was hoped her condition might improve. A message from the hospital Tuesday advised of her critical condition and that no hopes of her recovery were held.

The body was brought to this city Wednesday and from here taken to Matfield Green where the funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Interment was then made in the Matfield Green cemetery.

Mrs. Watchous was born and raised in this county and had spent her entire life here. She was about forty years of age and besides her husband leaves five children the eldest of whom is eighteen. The children are Bernice, Louise, Stanley, Phillis and Donald, Her death coming so suddenly is a severc shock to her family and many, friends and relatives.
