Wehrenberg, Henry

Henry Wehrenberg is dead at his home at Bazaar, death coming Monday morning, following a five-weeks illness.

Mr. Wehrenberg was born in Hanover, Germany, and was 73 years of age. He had lived at Bazaar for the past 45 years where he has been engaged in farming and stock-raising.

He is survived by five children who are Mrs. Henry Brecht and Herman and Clara Wehrenberg of Bazaar; Mrs. Fred Smith and Mrs. John Smith, both of Olpe, Kansas.

The funeral services will be held at the Wehrenberg home at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, a second service will be held in the Bazaar church, interment then made in the Bazaar cemetery.

HENRY WEHRENBERG DEAD

Henry Wehrenberg, a resident of Chase County for 45 years, died at his home near Bazaar, Monday, October 26. at the age of 73 years, 4 months 11 days.

Mr. Wehrenberg was born June 15, 1852, at Hanover, Germany, came to the United States in 1870, locating in New Jersey. Eight years later he moved to Emporia, Kans., where he remained for two years, moving to Chase County in 1880. He settled on a homestead near Bazaar, where he made his home until his death.

lie was united in marriage to Miss Louise Lubbe in 1880. To this union one son was born, who died in infancy. In 1886 he mourned the death of his wife and for two years lived a widower.

In 1888 he was married to Miss Johanna Ohm. To this union six children were born, two sons and four daughters, one son being deceased. Mrs. Wehrenberg died October 1, 1923. The surviving children are Mrs. Fred Schmidt and Mrs. John Schmidt of Olpe, Mrs. A. C. Brecht of Bazaar, and Herman and Clara, who lived at home with their father.

Brief German services were held at the home Wednesday, followed by English services at the church in Bazaar, the Rev. J. Jacob officiating. Burial was in the Bazaar cemetery.
