Weichold, Agnes Flora Launch

DEATH OF MRS. AGNES FLORA WEiCHOLD

Mrs. Agnes F. Weichold died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Koegeboehn in the Elk vicinity Friday afternoon, June 10th, 1932.

The funeral services were at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Lutheran church of Elk, Rev. John Jacob, preaching the sermon. Interment was then made in the Elk cemetery.

Mrs. Weichold's maiden name was Agnes Flora Launch. She was born in Saxony, Germany on May 3rd. 1842. She grew to young womanhood in the old country and was there married to Henry Weichold when she was 25 years of age on May 5th 1867.

The Weichold family emigrated from Germany to this county fifty- one years ago. They came almost directly to Kansas and located first in Marion county then moved to Chase county. Mr. Weichold died August 21st 1900.

Mrs. Weiehold is survived by seven children who are William Weichold, of Marion county; Gustavus Weichold, of Everton, Mo; Bruno Weichold and Mrs. Henry Koegeboehn, both of Elmdale; Mrs. Augusta Galletly, of Topeka; Mrs. Clara Veit of Cedar Point and Carl Weichold, of Tonganoxle, Kansas.

After coming to this county from the old country the Weichold family lived on a farm where Mr. Weichold engaged in farming and livestock raising until his death in 1900.

At the time of her death, Mrs. Weichold was in her nintieth year and was one of the olden women in the county in point of years. She was also one of the oldest residents of the northwest part of the county, having lived there and in Marion county just fifty-one years.

Mrs. Weichold was living at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Keogeboehn, at the time of her illness.

Mrs. Henry Weichold, 90, of Elk died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Koegeboehn, after a long sickness.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Lutheran church at Elk and interment was in the Elk cemetery. Rev. J. Jacob conducted the services.

Mrs. Weichold was born May 3, 1842, in Saxony, Germany. She was married in 1867 to Henry Koegeboehn in Germany and came to this country in 1881. She has lived since that time in Chase And Marion counties.

Mrs. Weichold is survived by seven children: Mrs. John Koegeboehn and Bruno Weichold, Elmdale; Mrs. Clara Veit,. Cedar Point; Mrs. Augusta Galletly, Topeka; Carl Weichold, Tonganoxie; Will Weichold, Marion; Gustavus Weichold, Everton, Mo.
