Weston, George Mrs

Death of Mrs Geo. Weston.

Mrs. Geo. Weston who died at her home four miles northwest of Emporia about two weeks ago formerly lived in this county. The Weston family were for many yearsresidents of the Wonsevu and Cedar Point neighborhoods and their many friends here will hear of Mrs. Weston's death with sorrow.

The Emporia Gazette says: Several weels ago one of her children contracted measles at school, and in caring for her, Mrs Weston took the same disease. She had recently suffered an attack of tonsilitis, which made her moresusceptible to this later trouble, and the measles developed into pneumonia

Her condition was known to be serious, but was not thought critical, and when death came from a weakened heart, it was entirely unexpected.

Mrs. Weston had lived at the home for the past six years. The family have been residents of Lyon county for nineyears, living for a short time three miles east of Americus, and again five miles north of Emporia before purchasingthe place where they now live.

Mrs. Waston's maiden name was Miss Josie Ward. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ward and was born near Fairbury, Ill, April 15, 1875: twenty-three years ago she came with her parents to Kansas, and they settled on a farm south of Cedar Point.

Here she was married January 1, 1896, to George Weston and they spent the first five years of their married life in the Wonsevu neigbborhood, about ten miles south of Cedar Point.

Mrs. Weston was the mother of two children, Vesta, aged 10, and Eva, aged 8. Besides her husband and children, she leaves her mother, three brothers, Frank Ward of Cambridge, 0hio; P. Ward and Adelbert Ward, of Cedar Point; and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Sickler, who lives seven miles east of Emporia, and Miss Grace Ward, of near Cedar Point. Her father died four years ago last February.
