Williams, Katie

The death of Mrs. Katie Williams occurred in Strong city Thursday, April 13th following a long illness. Mrs. Williams had lived in Chase county nearly all her life or for the past sixty years. She was widely known and her death brings deep regret to her many friends and acquaintances.

Following is the obituary which was read at her funeral held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church in Strong City at 2:30 o’clock which was conducted by Rev E. E. Satterlee, pastor of the Methodist church.

"Kate Connacher, daughter of Jas. and Christine Connacher, was born in Illinois, October 22nd., 1857, and departed this life at the home of her brother, Chas. Connacher, in Strong City, Kansas, April 13th, 1933, aged 75 years, 5 months and 22 days.

“She came to Kansas with her parents when 14 years of age and settled at Cottonwood Falls.

At the age of 20 she was married to W. M. Williams and to this union four children were born, one son and three daughters, all of whom, together with their father, have preceded the mother in death.

“Mrs. Williams had two sisters, Mary and Etta, and four brothers, John, James, Dan and Charles. Charles is the only remaining member of the family:

Interment was in Prairie Grove Cemetery beside her mother and father. Pall bearers were John Lewis, Sr., M. A. Houghton, D. H. Thomas, B. M. Garth, J. E. Bocook, and C. P. North.
