Williams, Lucile Pearl

The funeral for former Americus resident Lucile Pearl Williams, 95, of Wichita was Feb. 28, 2004, in the Bethel Baptist Church in Emporia. The Rev. Joe Tuttle of the church and the Rev. Bruce Thomas of the Glenville Bible Baptist Church in Wichita conducted the service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, south of Emporia.

Memorial contributions to the Bethel Baptist Church, Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita or Hospice Care of Kansas in Wichita may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.

Mrs. Williams, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at the Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita. The daughter of Albin and Edna P. Nevitt Grandeen, she was born Feb. 4, 1909, in Allen. She married Justus A. Williams on Nov. 14, 1928, in Cottonwood Falls. He died April 16, 1964.

Mrs. Williams is survived by a daughter, Virginia Schlageter of Wichita; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-greatgrandchildren. A son, Robert J. Williams; a brother, Arthur Grandeen; and two grand-children died earlier.
