Wilson, John

Mr. J. 0. Wilson has received word of the death of his oldest brother, John Wilson, at his home in Escendido, California, Wednesday, October 3rd. He had been in good health and the news of his death came unexpectedly. The funeral was held October 7th and burial was at Pasadena.

Besides Mrs. Wilson he leaves five children, three boys and two girls. Three of these are graduates of the University of Southern California. The youngest daughter is now a student at that institution and the youngest boy is a high school student.

Mr. Wilson was one of Chase county's most successful teachers in thg 80s, being at the head of the common schools of this city in 1886 and 1889. While in that poition he also was instructor in mathematics in the high school. He was recognized as an instructor of large ability and his absolute fairness was universally recognized.

Mr. Wilson married Miss Maude Johnson of this city, who was a graduate of the Cottonwood Falls high school in the class of 1889. Miss Johnson's father, Tom Johnson, was a druggist here in those days.

Mr. Wilson and family went east from here and for many years lived in Baltimore, where he was an accountant for a large business firm. About ten years ago they moved to California. The Johnson family also live in California, being residents of Los Angeles.

Besides his brother, J., 0. Wilson, of this place he had two brothers, Charles Wilson and Dan Wilson, at Turner, Kansas.
