Wilson, A R Mrs

EARLY CHASE COUNTY SETTLER DEAD

A. R. Wilson, who came to Kansas in the "sixties" is dead. Mrs. Wilson came with her husband to the east part of the county, bring among the early settlers here. Chase county was her home for many years. She is survived by five children, Harry, Hugh and Clarence all of Oregon, Mrs. Harry Petford of Saffordville and Mrs. L. E. Magee of Flanklinton, La. For the past 18 years Mrs. Wilson had lived with her sons in Oregon.

The remains were brought here for interment. Mrs. Wilson's death occurred in Portland, Oregon, Monday, March 30th. The body arrived in Strong City Saturday afternoon and was taken to Prairie Grove cemetery west of this city. A brief ceremony was held at the grave. Rev. Frank Porter of the M. E. Church of this city, having charge. Pallbearers were John Wilson, H. M. Blackshere, Fred Austin, T. G. Allen, Wm. Turner and B. M. Garth.

Mrs. Harry Petford of Saffordville was the only one of the children of the deceased who lived here. Mr. Wilon's death occurred about forty years ago.
