Winne, Nellie

Death of Nellie Wlnne

On last Monday afternoon the sad news reached this city of the death of Nellie Winne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Winne, a young lady well known and much loved here, she having been a student of our High School during last year.

Miss Nellie was born at her father's farm near Safford and was 17 years of age. She was attending school at Emporia when her illness commenced, and it had become severe before she consented to give up her school and go home. Typhoid fever in its severest form had obtained such strength that notwithstanding all medical aid that could be obtained she gradually drifted from life, death coming after a five weeks struggle.

The funeral services were held at her home near Safford on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, and were conducted by Rev. McAnulty and Rev. H. A. Cook. The remains were interred at Toledo.

Miss Nellie was a young girl of unsual force as well as sweetness of character. During the last year while a pupil in our city schools, she made many friends, and many tears were shed by her schoolmates when the news of her death arrived here. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
