Wisler, Charles S

The many Chase County friends of Charles S. Wisler were grieved to learn of his death, which occurred at Caldwell, Idaho, Thursday of last week. Mr. Wisler lived in this county for about fifteen years from the years 1910 to about 1925. He was engaged in the mercantile business at Cedar Point most of this time and also served a number of years there as postmaster.

Mr. Wisler was born February 14 1886 in Carroll county, Va. In 1910 he came to Cedar Point where he engaged in business. During the World War he served in company L of the 137th Kansas infantry. He was in active fighting service in Europe and was gassed while overseas. He was cited by President Wilson for his service to his county.

Upon his return from Europe at the close of the war he was united in marriage to Miss Rena Beck. Eight years ago the Wisler family moved to Idaho which had since been their home.

Besides his wife, Mr. Wisler leaves three children, Gene, Virginia and Thomas. He also is survived by his father, William Wisler, of Topeka and three brothers, C A Wisler of Emporia; R L Wisler of Florence and W A Wisler, of Bristol, Virginia, also three sisters, Mrs. W F Vernon of Topeka, Mrs. V M Allen of Vinceton, N J and Mrs. M B Smith of Mt. Holly, N J.

Mr. Wisler was an active member of the Methodist church and the Masonic lodge.
