Wood, Florence Ellen Evans Former Cottonwood Falls resident, Florence E. Wood, 89, of Wichita died Dec. 28, 2001, in the Infinia Care Center in Wichita. Mrs Wood was a homemaker.
Florence Ellen Evans, the daughter of Albert R. and Bertha May Wyatt Evans, was born March 21, 1912, at Cottonwood Falls. She married Homer Lee Prather on March 21, 1933, at Elmdale. He died earlier. She married Richard Wood on May 01, 1984, at Alva, Okla. He also died earlier. Mrs Wood was a member of the Methodist Church and Falls Chapter 25 of the Order of Eastern Star in Cottonwood Falls.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Rose Prather of Wichita and Richard L Prather of Clearwater, Fla.; two step daughters, Marcia Wood of New York City, N.Y. and Judith Reilly of Falls Church, Va.; a sister Lela Miller of Chandler, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
The funeral was Monday in the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls. The Rev. James Patterson officiated. Burial was in the Elmdale Cemetery.
