Wood, William W

William W. Wood, 75, Aurora, Colo., and formerly of Emporia, died in Aurora, Colo., on May 7, 2002.

William Walden Wood was born at Emporia on March 27, 1927, the son of Amos and Eunice Ethel Walden Wood. He married Carol J Henrickson at Dodge City on Dec. 27, 1962. Prior to his retirement Mr. Wood was credit manager for the John Deere Corporation. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Seaman Second Class in the US Navy.

Mr Wood is survived by his wife; three daughters, Christy Wood of Littleton, Colo., Lisa Bogle of Harrison, Ark. and Angela Stone of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; a sister, Joan Shumate of Emporia; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were May 13, 2002, at the First Christian Church in Emporia. The service was conducted by Pastor Steve Goad. Internment was in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia . Military Graveside services were by Lawry-Funston Post #1980, VFW and Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion. Memorial Contributions is to the First Christian Church, Emporia, and may be sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
