Wyrick, Wayne B.

The funeral for Wayne B. Wyrick, 80, of Waverly was Jan 24, 2002, at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Mr. Wyrick, who died Jan 20, 2002, at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington, was buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, north of Admire. Memorial contributions to the Waverly First Responders can be sent to the funeral home. Mr Wyrick worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 20 years and had farmed in the Waverly community since 1959. He later was a driver for the Bankers Dispatch for several years. He also worked at Bluestem Farm & Ranch Supply in Emporia and the Wolf Creek nuclear power station in Burlington.

Wayne B. Wyrick, the son of William Barthal and Christina Reed Wyrick, was born Aug. 9, 1921, at Allen. He graduated from Buckner High School in 1941. He was married and divorced. Mr. Wyrick is survived by a daughter, Audrey Murrell of Cottonwood Falls; a son, Tim Wyrick of Topeka; a step-daughter, Patty Mead of Wichita; two stepsons, Kevin McMillen of Lawrence and Rodney Sawdey of Black Creek, NY.; a sister, Lamoyhe Frankenfield of Osceola, Mo.; a stepbrother, Harvey Bittle of Bates City, Mo.; eight grand-children; and his companion and former wife, Dorothy Wyrick of Waverly.
