Yeager, Charles Dexter
News of the death of C. D. Yeager at his home on Rock creek west of Bazaar which occurred last Saturday Nov. 14, has brought universal sorrow to scores of Chase county people who knew Mr. Yeager so well and respected him so highly.
For more than a year Mr. Yeager has been in poor health. It was nessary for him to go to a hospital several months ago where he remained for many weeks. He finally improved and returned to his farm on Rock creek. While his health had improved yet he never fully recovered. A short time ago he became ill and his condition rapidly became critical.
All his life Mr. Yeager had been engaged in farming and the livestock, business. He was a master farmer and his farm and home was one of the best kept iu the county. He loved his work and loved nature. He took great pride in his farm and in his livestock and crops and he knew how to do these things as few men had learned.
He was born on Rock creek and all of 63 years be had lived on the farm, his present home being only a mile or two from the spot where be was born.
The funeral services were held at
the family home at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon. The Rev. Frank Porter, formerly pastor of the Methodist church of this city and a close friend of the Yeager family, came to preach the sermon. Interment was in the Bazaar cemetery.
Charles Dexter Yeager, son of Annie Catherine Rogler and George W. Yeager, was born November 24, 1868, on the old Yeager home place one-half mile east of Bazaar, and passed away November 14, 1931, at his home where he had lived for more than 40 years.
On November 11, 1890, he was married to Mary Theresa Schimpff. To this union were born a son and daughter, Albert Franklin Yeager, of Fargo, N, D., and Mrs. Anna May
of Leavenworth, Kansas.
Mr. Yeager served Chase county as county commissioner four years and served as a member of the Rock Creek school board for 40 years.
A father and husband who was loving and kind, a neighbor who was always thoughtful and helpful, a man who was a valued asset to our community, has gone trom us and will sadly be missed.
Besides his wife and children Mr. Yeager is survived by three grandchildren, Marybetty Yeager, Albert Franklin Yeager, Jr. and Marilyn Hale.
C. D. YEAGER PASSES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Funeral Services Held Monday for Former Chase County Commissioner.
C. D. Yeager, we3ll known resident of this county, died Saturday at his home west of Bazaar. He had not been well for a long time but his condition had not be considered serious. Funeral Services were held Monday afternoon at the Yeager home and interment was in the Bazaar cemetery. The Rev. F. P. Porter, former pastor of the Bazaar church, preached the funeral service.
