Yeager, William C.
William C. Yeager died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Yeager, at Bazaar at 6:00 o’clock Tuesday morning. His death came following a long illness which really dated from last Christmas although his condition did not become serious up until about six weeks ago.
The funeral was held at the family home at noon Wednesday. Rev. J. E. Bryan, pastor of the Cottonwood Falls Methodist church, preached the sermon after which interment was made in the Bazaar cemetery.
Mr. Yeager had always lived with his parents at Bazaar and the home in which he had spent so many years will now seem strangely lonesome. Besides his parents, two brothers are left to mourn his death who are Chas. D. Yeager and Frank Yeager, both of Bazaar.
To the bereaved family and relatives the sincere sympathy of all is extended.

With the passing away of Wm. C. Yeager Chase county loses one of her finest citizens. He died at the home of his parents on Rock creek.
He was born at the same place fifty-one years ago.
While in his junior year at K. U. he suffered a serious breakdown which made him an invalid the rest of his life. Tho afflicted physically his mind was unusually active and while not able to go over the farm, he attended to its renting, to the selling of its crops and generally superintended its management.
He was a successful breeder of registered shorthorn cattle, with the practical raising of his cattle he combined a scholars interest in their history and pedigree.
Tho an invalid for 30 years his mind was never bounded by the walls of his room, his interest in mankind was worldwide. This interest made him a painstaking student of public affairs. It made his room a place where matters of public welfare were often discussed. Men and women liked to go to the quiet room and talk with this thoughtful manfor he never failed to give them helpful words of wisdom and guidance. To all who were fortunate in knowing him, his life was a blessing.
He enjoyed company, especially that of his nieces and nephews, for whom he always had a story or other amusement to instruct or interest and they in turn dearly loved “Uncle Willie”.
The love and companionship between him and his mother was tender and beautiful. Such love is rarely given even to a mother. He was patient and to the last thoughtful of those about him.
Besides his aged parents he leaves two brothers, Charles and Frank. His brother George died last August, so this death comes as a second great sorrow to his relatives and friends.
The sympathy of the entire community goes out to these worthy people.
