I am searching for information for the families of Charles Bowen Smith, Abraham Lucas, and Maggie Ross. Charles was married in Cherokee Co in 1883. Abraham Lucas came to Cherokee Co. in about 1910, from Mo. and Maggie Ross was living in Weir in 1962. These families all lived in the Weir area. I would appreciate any leads on these families. I am willing to share what information I have.
I am looking for information on Grace E. Perkins. In 1942,
she signed a affidavit for a delayed birth certificate for
George H Brown born in Galena, Ks in Aug.1907. Says she
was a close neighbor.

I am looking for information on John "Harry" Brown and Cora
E. Mullen they were married in June 1904. They resided in
Galena, Baxter, and Joplin for 25 years. Also, looking for
information on Nova Brown, Harry's brother born after 1880
died before 1931.

Looking for descendants of Clinton and Julia Clark. James Clark, son died in Baxter Springs in 1931. Daughter Nancy Jane married H. A. Mullens in 1898. Their first child born in Baxter Springs, 1899.
I am trying to find out where Spring Grove School was
located. My Grandfather went to this school sometime after
1901. I have a class picture. He lived in Galena as a child.

I pretty sure the address is 1900 Galena Ave, Galena,
Kansas. The School and school yard take up the whole block.
I know this because my grandparents lived in the house
across the street from it (1808 Galena Ave) from 1945 to
1980.

Thompson was buried in Oak Hill Cem in Galena Cherokee
Co. KS does any one have this cem list? could you be so

Only know that my grandfather is James Perry Archer, born
in Indiana and
raised in Mo. I do not know his fathers name or the names
of any
siblings. I have information indicating he was in the army in
Kansas in
1864.

Sorry, No I am not looking for James Allen Price or James
Archer - Just James Allen who was born in Illinois in
1863/1864 and lived in Weir, Cherokee Co., KS in 1900. He
had no middle name. Named after his father. And his
surname was Allen. I may have found him in a cemetery
book on Cherokee County Cemetery Inscriptions. But thank

Looking for family of Ben Stickleman who lived in Galena,
Cherokee Co. Kansas. He had two sisters, Sarah Philean
Stickleman b. 1847 in Illinois and Annie b. April 20, 1869.
Annie married a Barton. Sarah married a
J.B. Williams and lived in Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma.

history. Family immigrated from Scotland/Ireland in 1700's
to Franklin Co., Pa.; Indiana Co., Pa.; Westmoreland Co.,
Pa.; Armstrong Co., Pa.; Guernsey Co., Ohio; then west to
Ill; KS; etc. If you have any knowledge of anyone in any of
these states, you are probably a descendent. Try the LDS

I am researching the MERRILL Family. My grandfather, Daniel William Merrill's Social Security Application identifies his birth city as Weir City Kansas, also noted are his father William Merrill; Mother, Dora Bell Craige. Looking for further information on Leon Tindall, born 26 Aug
1899, the son of J. Sheridan Tindall and Almira Jane
Harmon. The parents had family in Cherokee Co. and Leon
may have been born in Cherokee Co. Leon Tindall lived for
a time in Pueblo, Colorado. I understand he married late in
life to Alma? Johnson, a teacher in Galena.
