Jabez Hunt was married to Malissa Clapper, their children were Emma who married Payton York and George Washington Hunt, both born in Indiana. Jabez had a brother named Jonathan who was the first to come to Kansas from Indiana. They lived in Shawnee Township. I would love to hear from anyone concerning George Hunt as I know nothing about him and Jonathan Hunt, who may have been married to a Mary Preston. Jabez and Jonathan both died in Shawnee. My grandmother Cora York married to Charles Jones, was one of Emma's and Payton's children, I would be happy to share what I have.

I have recently received information regarding a John Johnson baptized on 24 Oct 1864 in "McGee County, Cherokee Neutral land", by a P.M. Ponziglione, S.J. The child was born 3 Oct 1864 to William and Kisara Johnson. It is possible this couple were my gggrandparents, William R. and Kissiah (Hornback) Johnston. William was reportedly born in Ireland, and Kissiah was born in Bourbon County, KY around 1828. They were married in Platte City, MO in 1853, and were known to have lived in Bates County, MO in the late 1850s. Does anyone have any information on the William and Kisara Johnson mentioned above? I'm not sure if this helps but one of the people in my family: James Morrow who lived & died ( 1909 )in Cherokee County, had a daughter ( Ella Emma Morrow ) who married a Holcomb. She had two daughters, Hazel and Theodra. They all lived with James so something happened to the marriage or her husband died. Ella was born 1869 in Christian County, Illinois and died in Cherokee County in 1948. I had wondered if your Robert was the husband.
