I am looking for any help in finding information regarding my gggggrandparents Dennis Wolf who was part Cherokee and one of the first settlers in Kansas and his wife Isabel Fields daughter of Richard Fields, Chief of the Texas Cherokee. Dennis migrated to Kansas and settled in what is now known as Garden Township along with the Fields brothers (Richard and George) in 1835 from Georgia. Dennis' first wife was a white woman by the name of Peggy Mcdaniel. Dennis had a sister by the name of Margaret (Peggy) who married a Richard Fields and then George Ewers (also an early settler of Kansas, Galena) Dennis and Isabel had a son by the name of Thomas who married Sarah Nix (my ggggrandparents) they had two children a son Dennis and a daughter Nana (also known as Lizzy,Eliza, and Nancy) (my gggrandmother)Thomas and Sarah died at an early age and Dennis and Nana were left as orphans. I have no information on Dennis but Nana went to the orphan asylum in Indian Territory for a year and then was taken out of the country and sent to Neosho. This was supposed to be sometime during the Civil War. I don't have much more info as far as dates etc,but would like to know about any land deeds, etc
Thank you
Linda
