Do you have any SCHLEPPs in your line? Do you want to share information? -------------------------------------------- ROWLEY Submitter Unknown 8 August 1999 I am looking for any information about Bennajah / Benengie ROWLEY and his ancestors. This is a summary of what I know so far. Bennjah married Susan Anne HYATT on March 20, 1893 at St. Francis, Kansas. there they lived in a sod house on the prairie. Apparently, Ben was in partnership with an Alec McCALLUMB, on a cattle ranch. Ben and Susan had two boys, Arthur (my Grandfather) born 18995 and Jessie, (born 1898). There may have been a half sister, Lucille as well. For reasons unknown, Bennajah disappeared, and Susan's brother, Tom Hyatt, from Michigan adopted the boys, although they kept the ROWLEY name. What happened to Susan after that is unclear as well. About 8 years after disappearing, Bennajah returned to Kansas, to a Mr. SHARP's ranch, a neighbor next to where Ben and Susan had lived. He only stayed a few days and was well dressed and with a good horse. He never said where he had been or where he was going when he left. I would appreciate any information on Ben and his history. I have much data on his descendants, but next to none on his ancestors, or Ben himself. -------------------------------------------- RATHBUN Submitter Unknown 31 May 1999 Researching my Step-Father's family.
