Obituary of EVA HALL |
SAD DEATH of MRS. ISAAC HALL. Mrs. Isaac Hall, whose home was in the southern part of Kiowa county, 14 miles northwest of Coldwater, met with a sad death Monday night. As we understand the facts, Mr. and Mrs. Hall had been visiting at Tom Hall's during the afternoon and returned home between 10 and 11 o'clock. Upon arriving home Mr. Hall preceded Mrs. Hall to the house. Mrs. Hall, after alighting from the carriage, reached back into the carriage seat after a quilt. A revolver, which was lying in the seat, either fell, striking the hammer, or was struck or dropped in being handled by Mrs. Hall, thus causing it to discharge. The revolver happened to be pointing toward Mrs. Hall, hence the ball struck her body and penetrated the vital organs. Death resulted in a few minutes. She had barely reached the house when she fell dead in the arms of her husband. The Kiowa county coroner was called, but decided that death was accidental. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon by Rev. I. W. Bailey of the Baptist church, after which interment was made in the Hillside cemetery. Deceased was Miss Eva Vulgamore, her former home being in the northern part of Sumner county. She was married to Isaac Hall about 6 years ago. Three daughters and the husband are left to mourn the loss of a kind and faithful mother and wife. To them the sincere sympathy of all is extended. |
