I have not been able to get a copy of his birth certificate. I was told the courthouse at that time had burned so did all records. Would anyone else have birth information from that time period? My Great-Grandmother's name was Jessie Grace (KLINGSMITH) MARIS. She was married to Oscar Morton MARIS. They lived in the Coldwater / Protection area. In fact we think Jessie and Oscar both may be buried in the Coldwater Cemetery. Other than this we know absolutely nothing about this side of our family. They lived on a farm outside of Coldwater and had 2 sons and a daughter, I think. He is related to my Grandmother, Mary Ellen (HINER) FRY. We do not know anything about her except her connection with the Chester HINERs. According to Hannah's obituary, she died February 20, 1915 and is buried next to Henry, who died 11 years earlier, in the Coldwater cemetery. ALLMON to a Jessie M. DOTTER. Marriage supposedly took place in Ashland, Kansas. I have contacted the District Court there and they said they could not find it. They also recommended I look to Comanche and Ford counties as a possibility. Does anyone have any idea who would be a good contact for the District Court in Comanche County?
