WRIGHT, m: ?? PARMINTER. James was born abt. 1860 and his wife abt. 1863. Their daughter, Blanche WRIGHT, b: 1892 married Halket PATTULLO (marriage notice in the Western Star dated April 14, 1916). In the marriage notice it states the "Mr. and Mrs. J. E. WRIGHT are among the pioneering settlers of the county." Any help would be appreciated. ------------------------------- THOMPSON...BAKER Sheila McQueen (sheila2@ruraltel.net) 30 October 2004 We are researching Floyd O. THOMPSON, Sr. and Mary E. BAKER. Mary E. BAKER was believed born in 1906. Married to Floyd O. THOMPSON and had a total of 13 children. I have some names, we are really interested in one of their children, named Opal M. THOMPSON, born July 4, 1927 in Coldwater, Kansas. She died July 1, 1990 in Kansas, unsure where, but this is my dad's birth mother and we would like to find any family history there may be. Mary E. BAKER's mother is buried in Coldwater, Kansas, her name we believe was Verna. I do have some other names of Mary and Floyd's children if that would help. ------------------------------- PHIPPS...CANNON Ruby Rempe (rclhremp@ruraltel.net) 25 October 2004 Are there any Comanche County archives or records for 1885-1886, 1887 that might verify the settler, Joseph Milton PHIPPS, who was believed to have been living in this area about 1885, and a daughter was born to this family during this time. His sister and her husband, William Davis CANNON was also believed to have been in the same vicinity. ------------------------------- HILT Sheila Alexander (troublubet@aol.com) 26 July 2004 I am looking for any information on the parents of Thelma HILT. I know that her parents were listed as Thomas and Zenia (DICKINSON) TAYLOR. Thelma was married to John HILT on February 4, 1927 in Wellington, Kansas. I don't know when they moved to Comanche County, but I do know that they are both buried at Crown Hill Cemetery. If anyone can help me in any way possible it would be greatly appreciated. ------------------------------- CODA Mike Morton (poppamike@mchsi.com) 28 April 2004 I am trying to discover information regarding my maternal Grandmother, Elsie Mae CODA. She was born May 4, 1890, reportedly near Coldwater, Kansas. Her older brother, Elmer, born March 18, 1887, in his obituary identified Coldwater as his place of birth. I have found no listing for CODAs in the 1880 or 1900 census for Comanche County. So apparently the family came and left again between these dates. Our family believes the Elsie's father was named Albert CODA and her mother was named Nancy Ann, but I have no support for this. Elsie also had brothers named Albert, (b: June 19, 1885); Warren, b: October 28, 1892; and Fred, b: abt. 1894), some of whom may have been born in Comanche County. We also believe Elsie's parents divorced, probably after about 1893 and before 1900. Any information identifying Elsie's parents would be greatly appreciated. ------------------------------- THOMAS Carol Grigg (cgrigg@kalispell.com) 20 January 2004 My father was raised in Comanche County, his name was Ruel Victor THOMAS; he had many brothers and sisters, i.e. Harley. One sister was a school teacher and adopted some children. I remember one cousin, Eileen. Last time I visited Coldwater was in 1948 with my father. We visited his parents who are now deceased and I can't remember their first names, but they were pretty old in 1948 and spoke a foreign language at times. Also, I remember another cousin named Carol (about my age), that lived in Coldwater. I am trying to locate relatives. The THOMAS family had many ranches in the neighborhood (pigs, wheat). I was only 13 at the time I visited so don't remember much. I believe my father's body was shipped back to Coldwater and is buried there. ------------------------------- WHITE...BOOTH...BREWER Robin Gitt (lrgitt@midlands.net) 17 January 2004 I would like information on Elmer WHITE. He married Leona BOOTH in 1910 and they lived near Wilmore, Kansas. In 1923 she then married a Ben BREWER. She died in Oklahoma in 1932. -------------------------------
